Rutherglen Community Carers

Rutherglen Community Carers was established in 1994 to address the need for person-centered social support for people with dementia and other mental health/disabling conditions who are being supported in the community.

Support at home (home-based respite) is provided by carers and, in the wider community, through specific community groups run by the organisation, namely the Early Diagnosed Dementia Group, The Men's Group and the Craft Club.

The organisation aims to support people to live well with their underlying health conditions and to provide respite and stress relief to service recipients and their families. The service is intended to complement existing services, not replace them.
