Heads Together (concussion and mild traumatic brain injury support group)
Heads Together is a free peer support group that is very relaxed and allows people space to feel validated and understood, receive support and resources, and reduce feelings of isolation.
We began this group as we found that those who were experiencing the effects of concussion and mild traumatic brain injury were struggling, as there is no clear support pathway, particularly in the longer term. Many participants feel misunderstood by families, employers, and healthcare professionals, and are often expected to function “normally” despite ongoing and often invisible challenges.
Members gain a greater understanding of their condition, increased confidence to talk about their needs, and practical coping strategies for daily challenges. It also supports adjustment to work, relationships, and healthcare systems, while empowering individuals to self‑advocate and manage the long‑term impacts of their injury more effectively.
Come and join us on the first Friday of each month, 10 am-1 pm!
