East Ayrshire Carers - Young Carers Service

Our staff are here to listen & support & can complete a Young Carers Statement to identify the best support for you. We run weekly activity groups throughout East Ayrshire to spend time with peers & get 1:1 support. We ensure young carers get a meaningful break from their caring which could be day trips & residential trips with other young carers helping to make lots of positive memories. We also support young carers to access funding to support an enjoyable activity or break which could be with their family.

Being a young carer can be hard:

May not have much time to play with friends
May find it difficult to get homework done on time
May experience bullying at school
May not want friends to know they look after or help to look after someone
May feel they are the only person who can look after their family member or friend
May feel overwhelmed & isolated

We work with all agencies to give the best support to the whole family.
