Homestart Wigtownshire
Many parents feel overwhelmed or exhausted by the stresses and difficulties of everyday life. Sometimes they have no one to give them encouragement and support when they most need it. Whether you need support for yourself, or someone else, Home-Start Wigtownshire is here to help.
Home-Start Wigtownshire is based in a large rural area in the most southerly part of Scotland, covering both the Rhins and Machars.
We recruit and train volunteers to support families with young children who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives.
We work alongside parents within their own home environment, encouraging and developing their skills and confidence to help build better lives for their children.
There are many reasons why you may need help through home visiting or our family groups such as:
Feeling isolated, maybe with no family nearby and struggling to make friends
Disability/Illness in the family (parent and/or child)
Mental Ill Health/Postnatal Illness
Multiple Births/several children under 5
Help with Budgeting
Family Breakdown
Joining in your Community
We also run family groups in various locations throughout Wigtownshire. The groups are held regularly and provide a safe and stress free environment for quality family time through play.
