East Ayrshire Carers Centre

A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, frailty, disability, mental health issues or addiction cannot cope without their support.

We operate across East Ayrshire, supporting Young Carers (5-25 yrs) & Adult Carers Service (25+).

We help carers understand their rights under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016, such as the right to an Adult Carers Support Plan or Young Carers Statement to plan the outcomes they need to live a life alongside their caring role.

We provide in formation, advice & support with benefit maximisation, accessing respite opportunities, health related funding & awards, form completion, understanding options under Self Directed Support, training & money management.

We run support groups & coffee mornings to allow carers to get regular breaks away from their caring role. Young Carers benefit from weekly fun groups. All activities run throughout East Ayrshire. We also offer employability support to 14-19 year old young carers.
