Get Walking Lanarkshire
Get Walking Lanarkshire offers a programme of free health walks across North and South Lanarkshire, making good use of the lovely parks and green spaces the area has on offer.
Walking is a great form of exercise. It is free, most people can do it, you don't need any special equipment and it has many health benefits.
Health walks are short and gentle and last no longer than one hour. Everybody is welcome to join and the walks are particularly suitable for people who are not very active, people with a health condition, those recovering from illness or injury and people who cannot walk very fast or far.
The walking routes are easy, uneven paths and steep inclines are avoided. With a walk leader at the front and at the back, you can walk at your own pace and nobody will be left behind.
Joining a health walk is a great way to meet new people, explore your local area and get healthier and happier at the same time. It's exercise with the added bonus of friendly company, a good chat and fresh air!
