Caring for Smiles (Shetland Islands)

Caring for Smiles is Scotland’s national oral health promotion, training and support programme for staff in care homes.

We work in partnership with managers and staff and deliver training which meets the needs of the care home. This ensures staff have the knowledge of best practice and the skills to improve and maintain their resident’s oral health and, in turn, maximise the health and well being of all people living in care homes. In Shetland we also train staff who deliver support at home.

We travel out to rural areas to deliver training as well as providing sessions in Lerwick.
