Action for Children - North Lanarkshire Young Carers Project

North Lanarkshire Young Carers Project is managed by Action For Children. NLYC supports young carers aged 8-18. The service identifies and provides direct support to children and young adults who look after or help to look after someone in their family who requires support, including parents who have mental health or substance misuse problem and also children who care for a sibling.

The direct support they provide includes provision of Young Carers statements, carer advice and guidance, individual and group support including in school support, short breaks and residential breaks and help to access specialist services. NLYC also provides financial advice and supports, as well as help to access universal services such as leisure and youth services.
