*Community Addiction Recovery Service (CAReS) - Cambuslang
The Community Addiction Recovery Service (CAReS) is a community-based integrated alcohol and drug treatment service, designed to support adults (16 +) with their recovery from alcohol or drug dependency problems.
The multi-disciplinary service is made up of Social Workers, Nurses, Substance Misuse Workers, Occupational Therapists and Peer Support Workers, with additional support provided by Addictions Psychology, Addictions Psychiatry, and Community Prescribers.
CAReS provides medical interventions and substitute prescribing, which can include same day prescribing for opiate replacement. Detoxification regimes, and medications designed to reduce cravings. We also provide harm reduction strategies, psychosocial interventions and practical support regarding employment, relationships, housing and general wellbeing.

You can refer yourself to CAReS, or can be referred by your GP, or Social Worker.
Once referred into the service, you will be allocated a worker who will work with you depending on what service you might need. This can range from short-term assistance, or longer-term support depending on your circumstances.
