BeFriend

The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland and Berwickshire Housing Association support BeFriend to help anyone living in Berwickshire and Kelso who is over the age of 65 to maintain social connections and engage with their local communities.

BeFriend does this by providing the opportunity to join in with community befriending groups. These groups are a great place to make friends, get out and about, and get active. 

Community befriending is involved in a number of regular activities including shopping trips, community lunches, musical events and other events such as seated exercise, day trips.

Befriend can also offer 1 -2 -1 befriending, this is where people are matched with a volunteer who may visit or telephone befriend someone on a regular basis. 

Because BeFriend is fully funded, there is no fee to access the service.
