Money Advice Service

Alongside our seven foodbanks, Edinburgh Food Project have a Money Advice Service. We recognise that food parcels provide immediate short-term relief for people, but they don't address the causes of someone's poverty that led to them being unable to afford food. That's why we have a Money Advice Service who provide face-to-face support at our foodbanks and in ongoing 1-2-1 sessions to improve people's incomes.

The Money Advice Service can help you by:

Carrying out a benefit check to make sure you are in receipt of the correct level of benefits and completing benefit applications on your behalf.

Applying for grants on your behalf.

Signposting you to other agencies for other types of specialist support.

Assisting you to open a bank account

Assist you with debt advice and support

Issuing foodbank vouchers to be used in our foodbanks
