Support for people affected by drugs

There may be changes to the opening times of pharmacies, mental health and drugs services. There may also be changes to the way you can access your GP.

There is general information and live chat available on services at Know the Score or by calling 0333 230 9468 Mon-Fri 9am-9pm or Sat-Sun 10am-4pm.

We Are With You are an alcohol and other drug service provider who are offering support to people even where they are not already registered with one of their services.

Visit our map of injecting equipment provider and pharmacy services operating across Scotland. Many will dispense naloxone.

Mutual aid

Mutual Aid Organisations like Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and SMART Recovery are offering mutual aid meetings online.

Local Recovery Communities have also moved their Recovery Cafes and other activities online

Support for friends and family members

If you are concerned about the effects of drug use in your home, and the impact this is having on you or other family members, there are organisations which can help.

Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs 08080 101011. Scottish Families can help you understand more about substance use in the family, provide ways to stay safe and offer advice and support on how to keep others in your household well.

Childline provides support for children and young people. Phone free from 9 am to midnight on 0800 1111. If you’re unable to call, they have an online service, where you can text with a counsellor.
