Organ donation

Organ donation is giving an organ or tissue to help someone who needs a transplant. Transplants can save or greatly enhance the lives of other people. But this relies on donors and their families agreeing to donate their organs or tissue.

9 out of 10 people in Scotland support organ donation, however only 4 in 10 are on the NHS Organ Donation Register. This means that someone dies every day waiting on a transplant and donors are urgently needed.  It only takes two minutes to register. Visit Organ Donation Scotland to find out more.
