Accessibility

We want everyone who visits NHS inform (nhsinform.scot) to feel welcome and able to find information whatever their circumstance.

To do this we've:

  • designed the website to be accessible and usable for everyone
  • provided alternative text and subtitles for media content (where appropriate)
  • written in plain English - making our information easy to read and understand

Conformance statement

We're working towards meeting the AA standard of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 as required under the proposed European Directive on Accessibility of Public Sector Bodies' Websites.

We've tested this website against these standards and we're happy this website meets all expectations under the directive.

*The core experience of the website will be supported. However, some of the richer features might not be supported.

To use the tool:

  • select a tool from the toolbar

  • Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 10.00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am to 5.00pm
